NEW YORK, October 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – At the end of the October 15, 2021 settlement date, short interest on 2,878 Nasdaq Global MarketSM The securities totaled 8,844,587,706 shares against 8,738,351,082 shares in 2,803 Global Market issues declared for the previous settlement date of September 30, 2021. The short-term interest of mid-October represents 3.20 days against 2.85 days for the previous reporting period.

Short interest on 2,106 securities on the Nasdaq capital marketSM totals 2,387,690,210 shares at the close of the settlement of October 15, 2021 compared to 2,367,515,421 shares in 2,096 shares for the previous year. This represents an average daily volume of 1.32 days; the figure for the previous reference period was 1.58.

In summary, overdraft interest on all 4,984 Nasdaq® securities amounted to 11,232,277,916 shares at the settlement date of October 15, 2021, compared with 4,943 issues and 11,105,866,503 shares at the end of the previous reporting period. This is an average daily volume of 2.45 days, compared to an average of 2.43 days for the previous reporting period.
