Decent deal in my opinion (not as steep a deal as the Costco 10th Gen base iPad yesterday, but c'est la vie).
Was available a few weeks ago in pink (see that discussion here: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/walmart-ipad-air-wi-fi-5th-gen-64gb-pink-399-2759544/#p40187527)

For those who don't need the M2 vs. M1 and 4x less storage, but with a $200 saving over the Costco deal. This is solid.

I cancelled my Walmart order last time after reading about shrink-wrap problems. Their cx service is terrible if you have to deal with an issue like that.

And to clarify, the Costco deal I was referring to is the iPad Air gen 6 (M2) 256GB for $599, and not the base ipad deal that Costco also had yesterday!

Keep in mind the 5th gen iPad Air does come shrink-wrapped and are made in Vietnam. Seems the 6th gen are not shrink-wrapped but use the pull tabs and are made in China.

64 gb is too low. Going to run into problems when os is out of space to update and then apps stops working.

Not really. This is not a phone that you take pics and videos all the time to fill up the storage as quick. For someone who needs to draw, watch some movies, YouTube and browse. This is plenty enough to me.

Thanks - got the pink 64gb iPad Air 5 from Walmart last time and it’s shrink wrapped with a pull tab/sticker at one bottom corner - was concerned if it’s legit. (Haven’t open yet) so it should be ok then!

It’s a great price, my local Walmart has one. Super tempted, but 64gb is a total dealbreaker.
The 4th Gen iPods released in 2004 had 60gb capacity, and 80gb in 2006.
Unacceptable practice in 2025, imo.

Care to share a bit more info/details as to what the shrink-wrap problems are?

This might not look as a significant issue since Apple Devices run smoothly forever, a time eventually comes when OS/system data takes over more than 75% space on the device.
Experiencing this on iPhone 6s 16gb where OS and System data accounts for 11gb !! Phone runs well but unusable due to space issues.

Do you Need it, No.
Do you buy it, hell Yeah !!

Good thing this device was released in 2022 not 2025 then.
